This unfurtunate region have to live with violence, war and displacements since decades, due to its richness of natural resources that a crucial for the world economy.

Die Idee von Gapminder ist, den Zugang und die Nutzung von statistischen Daten zu verbessern und zu vereinfachen. Es wurde ein Programm entwickelt, das die Daten aus den Datenbänken vieler internationaler und nationaler Institute in anschauliche, grafisch-dynamische Form bringt und nutzbar macht.
Alle möglichen Entwicklungen können anhand der statistischen Daten verfolgt, verglichen und Zusammenhänge so quantitativ nachvollzogen werden.
